We harness the best of CrossFit Sanitas to give back to our local community and beyond. Whether it’s hosting competitions for social justice, collecting toys, coats and sneakers for kids in need, or supporting organizations abroad…together, we can make a difference.

About A Precious Child
A Precious Child aims to provide resources and support for children and families in need. As a designated essential organization, they are on the frontlines during the current COVID-19 pandemic, providing emergency essentials, such as hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and clothing. These resources are vital to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and provide much needed relief to the most vulnerable population in our community.

Nonprofit in Residence

Boulder resident and Haitian immigrant, Rico Changeux, founded Vertile Foundation to provide a home for abandoned children after the 2010 earthquake that left hundreds of thousands of kids homeless. Several members of the Sanitas community have visited Haiti and currently work on the board of this organization.

In addition to a home for children with no where else to turn, Vertile opened a much needed middle school in 2020 to educate more children in the community. It is the only school in the region with power and a technology lab. Only 1 in 5 children makes it past the 6th grade. The school is very important part of Vertile’s mission because breaking out of extreme poverty is virtually impossible without an education.

Other Causes Helped by Our Community

Charities

Boulder Valley Schools

Mission: Raise funds for two schools in Boulder Valley School District: Boulder for Flatirons Elementary and Sunshine Montessori

We hosted fundraisers in our space and contributed to these two schools to help support educational initiatives.

CrossFit for Hope: Hope for Kenya

Mission: Raise funds to provide education, food and water for residents outside of Mombasa, Kenya

In 2013, we hosted an in-house competition as part of a worldwide collaborative event hosted by CrossFit. Together with the CrossFit community, we raised $360,000+.

Donate Life Colorado

Mission: Raise funds for a heart donation for Lea M., a child of one of our longtime members through Donate Life Colorado

In 2014, we hosted a benefit to help with the cost of a new heart for one of our members’ little girls. She has a new heart, and is thriving today!

A Precious Child

Mission: Provide children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential.

Every year, we host a toy drive to bring joy to kids in need for the holidays, and in 2020, we hosted a winter clothing drive. Our members have helped 100+ families bring home gifts for their kids.

Lindsay Long’s Cancer Fund

Mission: Raise funds to benefit the cancer recovery of our longtime acupuncturist Lindsay Long

In 2019, we hosted a benefit competition to raise funds to benefit Lindsay’s recovery. Together with member donations, we raised $4,600.

Campaign Zero

Mission: Lobby policymakers to change policy that utilizes research-based solutions to end police brutality in the U.S.

In 2020, we hosted a benefit competition to support their efforts. Together with member donations, we raised $1,200.

National Police Accountability Project

Mission: Protect human & civil rights of individuals in their encounters with law enforcement & detention facility personnel

In 2020, we hosted a benefit competition to support their efforts. Together with member donations, we raised $700.

Innocence Project

Mission: Exonerate wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reform the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice

In 2020, we hosted a benefit competition to support their efforts. Together with member donations, we raised $2,000.

Sneakers 4 Funds

Mission: Support micro-enterprises in 27 developing countries with donated shoes, with additional kickback to nonprofits

In 2019, we began hosting a sneaker drop-off, and are continuing to accept donations. Additionally, any proceeds benefit Vertile Foundation.

Sanitas Scholarship Program

In an effort to create and maintain a community based on equal access and inclusivity, we offer scholarships to those in need. Those that are selected receive:

6-month scholarships for unlimited memberships
All included membership amenities: access to cold plunge and sauna, yoga classes at The Little Yoga Studio, and more!
