Integrated Positional Therapy is an extremely effective program of recovery to bring long lasting results from acute and chronic pain. This modality was created by Lee Albert, who is a Nationally recognized expert in neuromuscular pain relief. This modality has an extremely effective pain free approach for bringing relief to common Neuromuscular conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis, Fibromyalgia, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Sciatica, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Low Back Pain, and Knee Pain.

This modality has such a high rate of success in treating these common conditions because IPT has 3 basic core principles.

  1. THE ROOT CAUSE OF YOUR PAIN MUST BE IDENTIFIED”.

The root cause of your pain is usually not where the pain is manifesting. For example, If a person is experiencing pain in between there shoulder blades, it could be stemming from the Pectoralis Minor.

  2. THE MUSCLE IMBALANCES MUST BE TREATED.”

A vast majority of Neuromuscular pain patterns stem from muscles being imbalanced. This means some muscles become tight and short, and other become weak and over stretched. When the muscular system is brought back into balance by using techniques such as Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Strain-Counterstrain (SCS) the body then can relax bringing relief to many pain conditions.

  3. THE MUSCLES MUST BE TRAINED TO STAY IN BALANCE”.

This part of the treatment plan is crucial for the long lasting effects. This means that you as the client must play and active role in your progression as your body heals. This involves daily exercises of stretching, slackening, and strengthening your muscles.

Some clients have been knows to experience immediate relief in there pain but it can take 6-8 weeks for your body to get back into balance. To achieve faster results in your healing process, some lifestyle changes might need to happen. Such as increasing your water intake, adjusting your driving position, and adjusting the way you sit in a char. These simple yet important changes in your lifestyle can make a significant impact the wellbeing of your life.
