Do I need to be in shape for CrossFit?

As a coach, people often ask me "Do I need to be in shape for CrossFit?" This kind of question is pretty common, especially because walking into a CrossFit gym for the first time can admittedly be a little intimidating. I can absolutely see the logic behind feeling like you need to head to the rec center solo for a little while to lose some weight and build confidence, but everyone starts somewhere.Let me ask you: Would you wait to be healthy before you started eating vegetables and stopped eating sweets? Would you wait to buy a bicycle until after you've learned to ride? Just like there's no shortcut to working up to a 5-minute mile time, the same logic applies to CrossFit. What better way to get better at the thing you want to do than by doing it?

We'll help you get the rest of the way by finding modification and scaling options that work for you. No matter where you are with your fitness, if you come in with zero experience but a get-after-it attitude, we'll do whatever we can to help you grow. We're pumped when we see you achieve something, no matter the milestone."Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." - Arthur Ashe
