What is the CrossFit Open?
1) The CrossFit Open is the world’s largest participatory sporting event with over 300,000 people competing in thousands of gyms around the world.
2) There are three workouts over three weeks. Each workout has a version for advanced athletes, various versions for masters athletes, and a scaled division that is suitable for beginners and intermediates
3) We’ll complete one Open workout each week at CrossFit Sanitas, plus host special events with fun and prizes.
4) The CrossFit Open is the qualifier to crown the fittest athletes in the world at the CrossFit Games every year. But there is a scaled division that features movements like single-unders, jumping pull-ups, and thrusters using just the bar — making it fun and accessible for virtually all CrossFit Sanitas members.
5) You do not need to register with CrossFit to participate at CrossFit Sanitas. However, we encourage you to sign up — it’s really fun to be part of the world’s biggest athletic event, and it allows you to compare your results with people of similar ages and abilities worldwide.

How to Earn Points
Each week during the CrossFit Open, you can earn points for your team by:
Completing the Open workout – 1 point
Dressing to the weekly theme – 1 point
Judging another athlete – 1 point per athlete judged
The more you participate, the more your team climbs.
How Scoring Works
Each team will have a column on the front whiteboard.
Once you earn a point, tally it in your team’s column. It’s that simple.
Points will be totaled every Monday, and the weekly winning team will be announced on the whiteboard. Bragging rights included.

Week 1 — Wear Your Team Color! tank tops, shorts, socks, bandanas, hats, pants, etc!!
Coach SM Team: Purple

Week 2 — Dress to Match Your Team Name
The Greek Gods: togas, gold accessories, crowns, lightning bolts, flowing white outfits, metallic face paint
The Hulks: green shirts or tanks, ripped sleeves, purple shorts, superhero costumes, muscle suits, green face paint
Shake N Bake: race car driver suits, checkered flags, Talladega-style headbands, fake mustaches, NASCAR-inspired gear, pit crew outfits, sunglasses and bandanas
Week 3 — Sanitas Pride
Wear your Sanitas gear and show up loud.
Go all in. Be creative. Show up for your team.
Celebration & Awards
At the end of the Open, we’ll celebrate as a community and recognize athletes with awards for:
