Q1 2026 member survey feedback

Thank you for your thoughtful responses to the member survey.   

There were hundreds of appreciative and complementary quotes that filled us with joy and reminded us why we do what we do every day.   There was a lot of clarity on the diversity of things that matter most to you all.  And there was no shortage of direct feedback on what we can do better.

Here are some verbatim quotes representing the gamut of the positive impact Sanitas has in your lives:

o   “I feel stronger, but also more balanced and energetic.”

o   “Little touches like nice showers, cold plunge and sauna.”

o   “Lifting heavy things outside the gym no longer scares me!”

o   “I feel like I’m good enough and never feel judged for lighter loads or scaling.”

o   “I love the variety of classes and flexibility”

And here are the 10 key areas we began addressing after reviewing your feedback.  We wanted to wait to share until we had meaningful progress to report on each.  And more to come!

1. Hire a world-class full-time head coach. -   Coach Shaye hired

2. Upgrade equipment - All broken 10# plates replaced; Beginning to repair older barbells to get them spinning better (in progress)

3. Improve cleanliness -  Bathroom checklists implemented, deep cleaning and floor sealing scheduled for June (a big project!),  additional cleaning staff beginning by early May.

 

4. All coaches off iPhones  - Procuring gym iPad to be sole controller for music and timer and implement ban on phones while coaching.  

 

5. Continued specific development for each coach - Each coach received all of their personal feedback and talked through it with Eric.  Coach Shaye will work with all coaches on an acountable Continuous Improvement Plan to address their weaknesses and build on their strengths.  

6. Create more class time:

  • Daily-ish Skill and Technique coaching (eg Oly, Gymnastics)

  • Daily after-class mobilizing and/or accessory work before next class begins

Shaye and Eric will be working with Dwight on any modifications required to balance these oft-sited requests.  Hopefully you have already seen progress in both these areas since the survey.  

 

8.  Build more community both in classes and outside the gym - We had our first partner track&field workout Sunday, have added 5 events for May (this volume will not be typical!), will be turning the watercooler bulletin board into a member-posting board, and are experimenting with a “community updates” addition to the newsletter and investigating potential WhatsApp or online community tools.

 

9. Dog feedback –  Dogs are no longer allowed in the seating area at front of gym.  Friendly dogs will be allowed to be tied up or with owners on the gym’s south side. Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave.

10. Launch Hyrox Endurance program - This will be a great new member benefit.  We are working to launch a formal Hyrox program in the coming months. Shaye has already done this at his previous gym, and Dwight is both a competitive Hyrox athlete and an experienced Hyrox programmer.
